Literary Routes Through Orwell's Barcelona
By Charlotte Stace
One more year, immerse yourself for free in George Orwell's Barcelona with expert guides in the life and work of the writer.
With the help of photographer Ricard Martínez, teacher and guide Nick Lloyd and historians Paula León, Manu Valentín and Fernando Casal you can follow the steps of the British writer in Barcelona, recalling in his real scenarios the main events that he lived and that he tells in Homage to Catalonia - a book retelling his personal account of his experiences and observations fighting in the Spanish Civil War for the POUM militia.
The route will be happening on a number of dates across May in different languages: 10th May in Catalan, 11th May in Spanish, 30th May in English and 31st May in Catalan - this route will be followed by a reading of excerpts from Homage to Catalonia in front of the cafè Moka in La Rambla.
