Inaugurated in 2003 as the city’s first fair devoted to video art, LOOP Fair uses hotel rooms to showcase the latest productions by video artists. Watch, learn about and buy art from the intimacy of a hotel room. Prices can range from several thousand to tens of thousands of euros, with collectors and curators praying nobody posts their freshly bought works on YouTube.
This year galleries from 28 countries present their newest gems in 45 rooms on the ground floor of Hotel Catalonia Ramblas. Lie on a bed, sit on a sofa or just stand in the room’s doorway and savor new pieces of video art. More works will be shown at venues around the city, together with talks, concerts and other activities, as part of the ongoing LOOP Festival.
