Manifesta 15
By Charlotte Stace
From September to November, Manifesta - the European Nomadic Biennial, comes to Barcelona for its 15th edition. Founded in the early 1990s as a biennial of contemporary art, its central objective was to respond to the new social, cultural and political reality of the time.
The event takes place over 12 weeks across 12 different regions and a number of different venues within Barcelona. It will bring together exciting and innovative projects that centre around the three leading themes of the biennial: Balancing Conflicts, Cure and Care and Imagining Futures. Each selected project has been created to reshape the relations between art, culture and society and maintains a dialogue with the local communities.
There’ll be a programme full of projects, conferences, workshops and talks with more than 90 local and international participants. To see the full programme and buy a ticket, head over to the website.
