MACBA welcomes an exhibition on the work of the Catalan artist Mari Chordà. Not only an artist, she is also a poet, feminist and social activist.

Her work is created on the foundations of image, language and social action, which are all an integral part of her life. All aspects of her work - the artist, poet and activist - form an unbreakable bond and a basis for an attitude and convictions that make up the backbone of her art and life.

As well as being an attentive observer of the reality around her, Chordà insists on playing an active role in it, intending to shake up and subvert what she sees. She’s guided by her political feelings that have emerged as a response to the Franco regime. She now fights for the visibility and recognition of women’s work in the contemporary art world. Don’t miss the chance to see her work exhibited here in Barcelona.
