Maridajes XVII: Based on True Stories

Maridajes is a series of exhibitions initiated in 2007 in the exhibition hall of Bodegas RODA (Haro, La Rioja) based on photographs from the Foto Colectania collection.
In each selection, a common link is established between different photographers under a central thematic axis. The 27th edition of the Maridajes cycle, entitled "Based on True Stories", offers a new look at the Foto Colectania collection, with photographs by Manel Armengol, Javier Campano, Carlos Cánovas, Jean-Marie del Moral, Cristina García Rodero, Francisco Gómez, Juande Jarillo, Gervasio Sánchez, Rafael Sanz Lobato, Luiz Simôes and Ricard Terré.
The exhibition takes as its starting point the stories behind the photographs, those that are often not explained and that on this occasion take more prominence to show the viewer an intentionality that often goes unnoticed. The selected images, accompanied by new contextualizations and, sometimes, the testimony of the author themself, aim to give new meanings and greater depth to the photographs.
