Martinho da Vila

One of the greatest names in samba and in Brazilian music, at the young age of 85, Martinho da Vila comes to perform at Sala Apolo.
Full of energy and enthusiasm, the musician, along with his band - Gabriel Aquino (guitar), Gabriel Policarpo and Bernardo Aguiar (percussion), João Rafael (bass), Alaan Monteiro (cavaquinho) and Maíra Freitas (piano) - will perform some of his greatest hits. From "Casa de Bamba” to "Devagar Devagarinho", and "Canta Canta, Minha Gente" to "Madalena do Jacu", he’ll perform the songs that have put him on the map throughout his career.
Over the years, da Villa has been recognised with some of the most prestigious awards in the music business. In 1991, he won the Shell Award for Brazilian Popular Music, he’s had several Latin Grammy nominations and, in 2021, he received the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Do NOT miss him live.
