MECAL Air’s open-air short film nights return to two venues: the Cam Francis Museum and the Mecal Factory.
The festival provides a meeting point for lovers of cinema, illustration, music and culture. Now celebrating its 26th edition, MECAL - Barcelona's International Short Film and Animation Festival - offers a series of open air screenings for you to enjoy the best short-format pieces of the last year. In addition, this year, there are workshops, talks and DJ sets lined up for you to enjoy too.
This year’s line up will feature short films across a series of diverse and different genres: from horror to sci-fi, erotic, LGTBIQ+, young audiences and documentaries. What’s more, there are sections devoted to discovering new Spanish talent and female filmmakers. So, grab your friends and head on over - make sure to get there early to grab a good spot. Screenings start around 9:15pm to 9:30pm, depending on the light.
