Medieval Market in Manresa
By Charlotte Stace
For two whole days, Manresa will transform itself to recreate the medieval era for its annual Fira de L’Aixada. Now in its 25th edition, the fair transports all who go there back to the 14th century to rediscover the spaces, crafts and characters of medieval times.
During the festival, which is celebrated around Manresa’s Festival of Lights, the old town is filled with artisans, masters of ancient trades, craftsmen and food sellers, who have come to sell their products. Yet, there’s also a range of entertainment for you to enjoy with tightrope walkers, minstrels, singers and dancers, and much more.
The streets will bustle as they would have during the 14th century and the town will be filled with the decor, smells, and sights of this bygone era. Perfect for all the family, this is both a cultural and historical experience - one event you shouldn’t miss seeing for yourself.
