When was the last time you did absolutely nothing? No social media, TV, reminiscing about the past or planning for future events? It’s so easy to become distracted by everyday events, that we risk losing our grasp on the present.

With its roots in Hinduism, the practice of meditation helps to train our attention to develop greater voluntary control over our current thought patterns. It uses breathing exercises to enable us to focus on rooting ourselves in the present. This encourages greater mental wellbeing and a clearer perspective on life

.If this sounds like something you’d like to take up this year, then try Cursos de Meditación organised by the group, Meditar en Barcelona. They meet regularly to practise guided meditation and help bring people a more calm, centred and peaceful life. And you don’t have to be an expert! This group is for anyone interested, no matter their level.
