Narnia

La Filmoteca brings us a showing of the beautifully enchanting, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (2005). Directed by Andrew Adamson, the film stars some of Hollywood’s biggest stars: Georgie Henley, William Moseley, Tilda Swinton, Rupert Everett, Dawn French, and James McAvoy.
Based on the 1950 novel of the same name by C. S. Lewis, the film follows the lives of four children, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, who are evacuated out of London following a World War II air rade to the countryside. It is here that they discover the magical wardrobe that leads them through to Narnia on the other side. The children go on an adventure with the lion king Aslan to defeat the evil queen.
A childhood classic, this film is both heartwarming and insightful and is perfect viewing for all the family to enjoy.
