Oktoberfest 2024
By Charlotte Stace
One of our favourite things about October in Barcelona is Oktoberfest. A festival that celebrates all things German, it’s one of the month’s highlights. Taking place in the Fira Barcelona Montjuïc, the festival originated in the state of Bavaria in the south of Germany and is now an annual event that takes place in a number of countries around the world at this time of year.
In a nutshell, it’s a party filled with German delicacies, all the beer you could possibly imagine, and time spent with your closest friends - what’s not to love? Aside from the gallons of Paulaner beer available at the event, you can sample some of the traditional tastes of Bavaria with pork knuckle, roast chicken, German sausages (like bratwurst), salads, brezels, and other typical dishes.
It all kicks off on Thursday 3rd October at 5pm in the main tent with the opening of the first keg of beer to mark 12 days of partying.
