Oleandole
By Charlotte Stace
The Oleándole jazz band comes to perform live at Jamboree Jazz Club. Consisting of Jordi Gaspar (bass), Frederico vannini (guitar), Guillermo Calliero (trumpet), Marti Serra (sax), Violeta Barrio (bailaora), Juan Jose Villar (bailaor and percussion), Jose Martin (singer), and Ramon Olivares (percussion), this is one event not to miss.
A unique group, Oleándole is a collective bringing together jazz and flamenco. Their shows typically are packed full of flamenco singing and dancing, as well as jazz improvisation. The genres feed back into one another, generating a creative symbiosis.
The group’s artists are those who have each proved themselves over the course of long careers, and now come to Oleándole to expand their registers, attracted by a creatively free and rewarding musical adventure. The band’s music is what they describe as a “fission of genres”, which they have dubbed “Symbiotic Flamencojazz”. This promises to be a one-of-a-kind musical experience.
