Freewheeling Raval association and events space Freedonia throws a Post-Punk Goth Rock party this month. The music will come from two of the city’s best punk-gothic rock bands: Seft Secrets and Sublocal z.

Formed in 2023 by Enrique Estevez, Seft Secrets is a post-punk/cold wave band based in Barcelona. The band’s staging is minimalist, gloomy and mysterious. They list their two very clear influences as the French band La Vagua Froid (cold wave) of the 80's, and the melodic eclecticism of bands like The Birthday Party.

Also based in Barcelona, Sublocal z serves up a frenetic and direct dark sound. Their rehearsals are improvised and their compositions emerge from those moments of inspiration. With a tendency to post-punk and classic 80's gothic rock (Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy), they also toy with sounds of dark wave 90's. Their performances bring both unique improvisations and revisions of some of their most powerful classic songs.
