Rome University of Fine Arts X OFF The Record

Of all the alternative Sonar week parties this year, this little festival organised by Rome University of Fine Arts and Off the Record looks to be one of the most interesting, and almost certainly the most elaborate. Taking place over three days at Masia Cordelles in Cerdanyola del Valles just north of Barcelona, it aims to "transform the historic villa into a vibrant crucible of art, music, and craftsmanship" through a superbly curated music lineup plus an exhibition, AV installations and markets covering audio equipment, vinyl and vintage clothes.
On the music side Thursday is curated by the vinyl distributor and record store Small Black Dots, and features guest sets from Gwenan, Miki and London's Jane Fitz, pictured, who is one of the most consummately skilled and joyful DJs out there. Friday is curated by Seekers and Off The Record and features sets from Alex Picone, Desyn and Rhadoo, and on Saturday Beautiful Freaks and Off The Record welcome DJ Rino, Jade Seatle, Penelope, Tom Rynders, Vera, and Walrus. At time of writing, first-release three-day tickets are still available at the decidedly reasonable price of €45.
