Startup Job Fair
By Thomas Macaulay
While Spain’s unemployment rate declined in 2014, a quarter of its labor force (five million people) remain jobless. Barcelona’s emergence as a global technology hub has allowed startups to fill some of the void left by redundancies in traditional employment. The combined attractions of the city’s lifestyle, tech knowledge, affordable workforce and culture of innovation have led to 400 active startups being founded here.
The Barcelona Startup Job Fair is a chance to explore the opportunities available in this world. Now in its sixth edition, the biggest event of its kind in Southern Europe will bring together 500 professionals to meet 40 fast-growing startups. Entrance is free, but job seekers will be screened to ensure their suitability for the opportunites on offer in the fields of development and engineering, design, product development, marketing and sales.
