Suncine 2024
By Charlotte Stace
At a time when climate change is impacting our planet at unprecedented levels, it’s essential that we look for ways to educate ourselves on such issues and spread awareness to others. The SUNCINE International Environmental Film Festival is one such event whose primary objective is to promote, disseminate and publicise environmental audiovisual works in order to raise awareness about the state of the environment, biodiversity and the planet’s sustainability.
The line-up this year includes a rich and diverse selection of films: exploring the lives of Sudanese refugees living on the streets of Morocco in This Jungo Life (2024); a heroic mission to save the Central American tropical forest in Patrullaje (2023); and Romanian villagers navigating life next to a poisonous disused copper mine in Where We Used to Sleep (2024), to name but a few.
Screenings will be held at the Institut Français, Cinemes Girona and CaixaForum. Head over to the festival’s website now to secure your tickets.
