The Dead Don't Die

La Filmoteca de Catalunya brings us a screening of the American absurdist zombie comedy film, The Dead Don’t Die (2019). Directed by Jim Jarmusch, the film stars some of the biggest names in showbiz: Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Tilda Swinton, Danny Glover, and Iggy Pop.
The plot follows the people of the ordinary and peaceful town Centerville, who start experiencing a zombie apocalypse. A strange atmosphere takes hold over the town. News reports are scary and scientists are concerned. But no one foresees the strangest and most dangerous events that will soon start plaguing this small town. While the dead rise from their graves and viciously attack the living, the citizens must battle for survival.
With a stellar cast, it is a parodic diversion that aims to be a metaphor for a sleepwalking society unable to focus attention on what is really important.
