The lights of sant pau
By Charlotte Stace
A breathtaking blend of light, colour and music, La Llum de Sant Pau (St. Paul’s Light) is an annual celebration to welcome the winter solstice and provide a touch of magic over the Christmas season.
For the third consecutive year, a dazzling display of shifting light and harmonic sounds will light up the façade of the historic Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, a masterpiece of Modernist architecture. In a nod to the legendary originators of the Modernist movement, this light show honours the city’s artistic forebears. The building was designed by the Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Aside from the lights, this year there’ll be an ice rink on site, available for everyone to use. So grab your family and friends and head to this unique site for a spellbinding light show surrounded by magnificent modernist architecture for a truly memorable winter experience.
