The Lumineers
By Ximena Kammel
Well, she was standing in a bar
I said, “Hello, how do you do?”
She handed me a beer with a kangaroo.
She spoke of places I had never been
That she had travelled to.
And we slow danced along, faster too
And I made her laugh, I made a pass,
I showed her my half dollar ring.
She said, “That’s pretty cool,
But classy girls don’t kiss in bars, you fool.”

Every once in a while a band will come along and make you sit up and take notice. Often they are characterized by an effortless charm accompanied by a mastery of their instruments and vocals that cut straight to the soul. They are poets, they are storytellers, they are romantics at heart. The Lumineers are just that and more, oh so much more. One night only in Barcelona. Americana folk at its purest. Not to be missed. Full stop.
