Arigato
By Charlotte Stace
Barcelona is famed for its gastronomy, not only because Catalan and Spanish cuisine are some of the best in the world, but because there are a lot of top-quality world restaurants too. One of which is Arigato.
Owned by the chefs Sebastián Mazzola (Argentinian) and Sussie Villarico (Dutch/Japanese), it is a locale that offers an eclectic mix of services - it is an ice cream workshop, restaurant and cafe. And that’s forgetting the wine and sake selection - Sussie is a sake sommelier. So what’s on offer? We recommend trying the Smoked Tofu Enfrijoladas, Kim-Chi-Laquiles, or the delicious chicken broth infused with Morita chilli & chipotle, free-range chicken wontons and veggies.
For dessert, there’s no option but to try one of the unique ice creams. Flavours range from the wicked to the wonderful. Try the pineapple kombucha sorbet with coconut, rum infused pineapple & hazelnut caramel, or the homemade cone with a scoop of sweet corn and vanilla gelato, hazelnut caramel & caramelizad popcorn.
