CaixaForum invites you to the projection of Aalto this coming Friday 14th at 7pm. Aalto recounts the life and work of one of the greatest modern architects, Alvar Aalto.
The documentary shares for the first time the intimate love story of Alvar and his architect wife, Aino Aalto. A tour of his iconic works around the world, including one of his most beautiful buildings in Finland, a library in Russia, a student residence at MIT, and the private home of an art collector near Paris. You’ll learn about the colourful history of modernism and along the way meet the Rockefellers, Le Corbusier and László Moholy-Nagy. This documentary organically combines entertainment and knowledge. The central protagonists speak intimately in their love letters. What’s more, Alvar's heartbreaking drawings of his wife on her deathbed are shown.
The documentary will be shown in original language with subtitles in Spanish.
