Caixa Forum is holding a showing of the documentary Alberto García-Alix: The Shadow Line (2017) by Nicolás Combarro this coming Friday 5^th at 7pm.

It is the crude, direct and exciting portrait of one of the most important Spanish photographers of the past 50 years. Emerging in the mid-1970s as one of the key figures of his artistic generation, and of La Movida Madrileña, the countercultural movement that transformed Spanish culture in the 1980s, García-Alix’s work is distinguished by its rawness and emotional honesty.

The film is an overwhelming testimony of the lights and shadows that the artist has passed through in his life and work. Narrated with intimacy and from his study, it poses a dialogue between present and past.
