With a resume that features early attempts at rap, award-winning productions, running a host of labels and a steady output of design over three decades, Andy Votel is a modern-day renaissance man.

Not many are better placed to talk about the origins of electronic music, Turkish psychedelia, Brazilian rarities and Hindi horrorcore, or the history of club culture in his native Manchester. This month Votel brings his Finders Keepers roadshow to Barcelona, opening the weekend with an exhibition of unpublished paintings – his newest avenue of creation – at Klinkstudios on Friday evening before hitting Laut for one of his unique DJ sets later that night.

You can find him at the weekend at the Independent Label Market at the CREC space in Poble Sec, where he will have a stall selling material from his Finders Keepers label, which includes reissues of forgotten outsider albums and new material from like-minded souls.
