Cavatast
By Charlotte Stace
If you’re a lover of sparkling wine, then Catalunya is one of the best regions in Europe to be in. While the French produce champagne and the Italians produce prosecco, the Catalans are famous for producing the much loved cava. And in honour of this fabulously fizzy drink, the fair Cavatast comes to the small village of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia.
Home to many of the largest Catalan cava production houses, this village will turn into the cava capital of Catalunya for three full days across the duration of the fair. Cavatast is an annual meeting point for lovers of this sparkling wine and good food, and it brings together a number of the best cava producers and chefs to offer you a very special weekend indeed.
Cava companies in attendance will include: Alsina & Sardà, The Mas Ferrer, Peter Mata, Blancher Capdevila Pujol, Fonpinet, Canals & Munné, and El Cep. Don’t miss this celebration of cava culture, a stone’s throw from Barcelona.
