Croiss& Fest is the kind of niche food festival Barcelona does well. It’s a celebration of the croissant in all its forms, from the straight-up original form to more unexpected sweet and savoury mixes. For three days, the whole concept becomes a lifestyle, framing the croissant as something that can stretch from breakfast to lunch, brunch, dessert and beyond.

This year’s edition includes a search for the best croissant in Barcelona, with visitors invited to taste and vote, alongside workshops, specialty coffee, live music, DJs, family activities and live cooking sessions. Among the workshops are a crookie class with Gisela from Tartas Bastante Majas, wine pairings with Locos del Vino by Vinos Torres, coffee tastings with Parcelona, artisan bread with Pep Moreno and a showcooking session with Rafa Antonín of Casa Rafuel.

It’s very much about croissants, but also about turning a love of pastry into a full weekend plan.
