Dinosaurs of Patagonia
By Charlotte Stace
CosmoCaixa welcomes its latest exhibition - Dinosaurs of Patagonia. This vast South American region has provided the best record of dinosaurs in the southern hemisphere. There, palaeontologists, reading in the rocks, have revealed fascinating stories from the past. This promises not just to be another dinosaur exhibition - it will be a deep dive into the paleontological work that goes into reading the secrets of rocks.
Earth's history is written in rocks, and palaeontologists spend much of their lives learning to read these stories of the planet's natural past. The exhibition provides a tour of their work that reveals how science works and how palaeontologists reconstruct the past, while presenting us with replicas of the skeletons of the most important dinosaurs found in this territory and its original fossils.
The star of the exhibition is a replica of a specimen of the 30-metre-long Patagotitan mayorum.
