You wouldn’t necessarily expect some of modern electronic music’s best basement house to come out of Swansea. But Doc Daneeka’s doing a mighty fine job of changing perceptions. Now based in Berlin, he brings an encyclopedic knowledge of dance music, twinned with an infectious enthusiasm for the genre to all of his productions.
Having released records in the past on 50 Weapons and Numbers, he now has his own label, Ten Thousand Yen, with which to do exactly as he pleases. At tonight’s label showcase he’ll be joined by failsafe party-bringer, XXXY. Together they’ll be doing their damnedest to show each and every sweaty night owl why their new label is the one to watch.
This is dance music for the most discerning of ravers.
