Glove Party w/ MLiR
By Kit Macdonald
Glove Party has been celebrating a decade of operations at various venues in Barcelona this year. The name, they say, "comes from the concept of wearing Love in order to connect with others". What distinguishes Glove Party from any other party, they continue, "is that at every event there is always a spirit of union among both its organisers and attendees that serves to create an absolutely magical atmosphere. To make this happen, Glove Party breaks the ice by forging a strong bond with its partygoers and ensuring that every Glover becomes properly introduced to the show as part of a movement rather than any other classic club soirée."
This will be the seventh and final event of Glove Party's current season, and it takes place at one of the city's most beautiful venues, La Paloma, the Raval ballroom opened in 1903, which retains its original decoration of modernist and rococo inspiration.
Headlining are MLiR, pictured, aka Swedes-in-Barcelona Marco Gegenheimer and Einar Christoffersson, who have been working together on organic, genre-fluid jams for many years. They will finally release their debut album - a double album no less - on Stockholm's wonderful Studio Barnhus label in the middle of this year. Support comes from Pabels, Histoire d'un Soir and Iván Ivanovich.
