Les Sacqueboutiers
By Charlotte Stace
What better way to wind down on a Sunday evening, than with a musical performance from four fabulously talented musicians? If this sounds like your kind of thing, then head over to CaixaForum for a performance from Les Sacqueboutiers.
The quartet is formed of Grégory Daltin (on accordion), Daniel Lassalle (on trombone), Benoit Albert (on guitar), and Florent Tisseyre (playing percussion). They are unique in that they tap into ancient music, improvisation and traditional culture throughout their compositions and style. Through each of their performances, they use a surprising combination of instruments that cover different places and times.
From the Mediterranean to Japan, Gregorian chant, fandangos, tarantellas and much more. They favour exploration, variety and the richness of melody - all of which combines to present an exciting and variable proposal.
