It’s been almost 160 years since the English writer Lewis Carroll wrote one of the most well-known stories in English literature, Alice in Wonderland. This tale and its protagonist, Alice, have since become part of the collective imagination of multiple generations across the world. Now, CaixaForum welcomes the first exhibition to offer an overarching look at the impact of this work.

Translated into more than 170 languages, this literary masterpiece has reached some of the furthest corners of the globe. The scope of its influence crosses generations, artists and disciplines: from fashion to theatre, cinema, photography and science.

This exhibition explores why this Victorian character has become so significant, the culture that fostered Caroll's writing, and why the themes and ideas discussed in it are still relevant today. A space for all the family to enjoy, it is both informative and playful.
