The colours of the world
By Charlotte Stace
Nature, cities, the sky … our world is full of a great diversity of colours. Only the great photographers, like those of National Geographic, have been able to capture the earth’s many colours in their true essence. To celebrate these images, CaixaForum invites you to its new exhibition ‘Colours of the World’ which explores some of the best National Geographic photographs ever captured on film.
In the daily life of the Earth’s big and bustling cities, metallic colours such as white, black and grey predominate. However, our natural world is a kaleidoscope of colour that many of us unfortunately do not get to witness firsthand. For decades, National Geographic has brought home images of our planet’s dazzling variety.
From the misty blues and greys of morning light to the vivid purples and reds of sunset, this exhibition invites us to discover that colour can be found everywhere, even if we don't automatically have access to it.
