In this interactive exhibition CosmoCaixa embarks on a journey to discover the secrets of the Sun and the relationship we have with our star.
This exhibition invites us to discover the secrets of our star and to show us the fascinating history of the relationship between human beings and the Sun: for centuries, astronomers have used instruments of all kinds to study it and reveal new scientific knowledge. The exhibition consists of 4 large thematic areas: the measurement of the passage of time thanks to the apparent movements of the Sun, the use of its energy, the relationship between the Sun and our health and, finally, the study of the Sun from the point of view of an astrophysicist.
This exhibition offers us a unique opportunity to observe a hundred pieces of great scientific relevance: from ancient observation instruments, such as a 16th century armillary sphere and an Islamic astrolabe, to electromechanical modules, nuclear reactor prototypes and solar energy collectors.
