BCN Film Fest 2026
By Charlotte Stace

The BCN Film Fest returns, bringing literature, history and cinema together. Officially titled the Barcelona-Sant Jordi International Film Festival, it’s carved out a clear identity over the years by championing films connected to books, real lives and cultural memory.
This year’s 10th edition features 90 titles, including 19 world premieres. Some of the highlights confirmed this year include The Birthday Party with Willem Dafoe, Fatih Akin’s The Island of Amrum, Rosemead starring Lucy Liu, Damiano Michieletto’s Primavera, Kei Ishikawa’s Pale Light on the Hills, and Lav Diaz’s Magallanes with Gael García Bernal.
The aim of the festival is to appeal to the film-loving public and those interested in culture in general, where both art-house projects and films aimed at a wider audience can come together thanks to one common denominator: quality. In a city full of cultural events, it remains one of the top fixtures on the spring calendar.
