The Ukrainian folk music quartet DakhaBrakha marks its 20th anniversary with an extensive European tour. Formed in 2004 at Kyiv’s “Dakh” theatre, the group has become a cultural icon, symbolizing a new Ukraine—free, bold, and independent. Their name, “DakhaBrakha,” originates from Old Ukrainian, meaning “give/take.
”Over two decades, DakhaBrakha has masterfully fused traditional Ukrainian songs with dynamic rhythms, blending instruments like the didjeridoo, cello, djembe and accordion. Their captivating performances have graced world-renowned stages, including Glastonbury, Sziget, GlobalFEST, and more, spanning continents from Mexico to South Korea.
Now, the band (consisting of Marko Halanevych, Olena Tsybulska, Iryna Kovalenko and Nina Garenetska) embarks on a celebratory tour, bringing their powerful, transformative sound to over 20 European cities. Early bird tickets cost 40 Euros. Make sure to get yours quickly, as this is one gig that’s likely to sell out fast.
