Echoes: Videos from the Han Nefkens Foundation Donation brings a new group of moving-image works into focus at MACBA, drawn from an important donation of 18 video artworks by the Barcelona-based Han Nefkens Foundation. This strengthens the museum’s commitment to video art and to artists working across different geographies, contexts and political realities.
Rather than treating video as straightforward documentary, the exhibition explores more open, fragmentary and associative ways of filming. Texture, sound, materiality and rhythm become central, shifting the moving image away from closed narrative and towards something more reflective.
