Felipe Romero
By Charlotte Stace

The KBr Photography Center hosts Bravo, an exhibition by Colombian artist Felipe Romero. Through this work, the artist presents a compelling visual exploration into the concept of waiting and border identity. He has chosen to focus on the Bravo River, which serves as a natural boundary between the United States and Mexico. He delves into the lives of migrants from countries including Colombia, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, capturing their experiences in this tumultuous border region.
The exhibition features a series of photographs showing architecture, individuals and landscapes within this border zone. Through images of sparse interiors, textured walls and evocative portraits, Romero explores themes of identity and the transient nature of existence in these liminal spaces.
This work offers visitors an intimate glimpse into the human aspect of migration and the deep sense of anticipation and isolation experienced by those in border regions.
