Jeff Tweedy
By Charlotte Stace

Jeff Tweedy brings his solo world to the stage - but behind the intimacy is a whole American music lineage. He began playing in high school with The Plebes alongside Jay Farrar, a band that later evolved into alternative-country trailblazers Uncle Tupelo. After they split, Tweedy formed Wilco, going on to major critical and commercial success with landmark albums like Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (2002) and A Ghost Is Born (2004) (which won the Grammy for Best Alternative Album in 2005).
Across his career, Tweedy has released 20 studio albums: four with Uncle Tupelo, twelve with Wilco, a project with his son Spencer, a solo acoustic record and multiple solo studio albums, plus collaborations like Mermaid Avenue with Billy Bragg.
His concert at Parallel 62 is a chance to hear that songwriting up close. It’ll centre on his new solo album Twilight Override (2025), with a few Wilco nods likely to sneak in.
