LA BRASA - Open air x Calçotada
By Kit Macdonald
Tis the season! An ideal seasonal combination of food and music awaits at this 10-hour calçotada-with-bells-on, which takes place somewhere outside Barcelona - the location, which is a 20-minute journey from the city centre, will be revealed via email one day before the event. On the gastronomic side, €18 will get you 12 calçots with gloves and bib, one butifarra, one potato with caliu and one artichoke. Food will be available between 1pm and 6pm and can be paid for at the site, in addition to the ticket price.
On the musical side, the organisers are promising to kick off the day gently with "downtempo, disco and happy tunes" from 11am before the vibe swings towards house, minimal and electro as night falls. Berlin-based producer Pierre Marty tops the bill with his debut live set in Barcelona. The chewy, floaty analogue electro and house of his debut EP, Sweet Dance, was one of the treats of 2023, and he has been playing with synthesisers and the like since childhood. Kiku, Perros Sound System, Combaila and Pekkuliar complete the bill.
