Science festival
By Charlotte Stace

Barcelona's 18th Festa de la Ciència transforms the Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria, Plaça Comercial and parts of Parc de la Ciutadella into a hub of scientific exploration. Organised by the Barcelona City Council, this free event aims to bring science closer to the public through interactive and educational experiences.
The science festival features over 160 activities across 28 spaces, including games, experiments, workshops, shows, storytelling sessions, guided tours, exhibitions, and so much more. A major highlight is a dedicated quantum physics area (organised by the Catalonia Quantum Academy), while other areas cover themes such as climate change, sustainability, archaeology, and the role of women in science.
Other standout activities include: the Omplim la leucèmia d’esperança installation where participants can create origami blood cells; guided tours of the Hivernacle and the Natura o Cultura? exhibition at the Centre Martorell d’Exposicions; the Descobreix l’enigma treasure hunt; and the AI Music from a Future World electronic music show.
