Sean scully
By Charlotte Stace

La Pedrera-Casa Milà hosts a retrospective of Sean Scully's work. This exhibition features over 60 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, drawings and photographs, tracing the evolution of the Dublin-born, US-based artist from his early figurative works to his recent abstract creations.
Moving from London to New York in 1975, Scully helped lead the transition from Minimalism to Emotional Abstraction in painting, which has influenced a number of contemporary artists. His distinctive use of colour blocks, lines and textures invites viewers into an introspective visual experience. A highlight of this exhibition is a monumental sculpture in the Passeig de Gràcia courtyard, crafted specifically for this event. He has specifically designed it to interact with Gaudí's architectural masterpiece.
The exhibition offers an immersive journey through Scully’s work, showcasing his mastery of form and emotion. General admission is €12 and is available to see until July this year
