Mikan
By Charlotte Stace
Looking for somewhere totally unique to eat in Barcelona? Try Mikan. Offering a blend of cuisines from northeastern China, Japan and Korea, this restaurant and wine bar should be at the top of your list of new places to try.
During the day, this cosy restaurant nestled away in the Eixample serves a cheap and healthy set menu with both vegetarian and vegan options. By night, they’re an intimate wine bar with small plates to share and a selection of natural cuvées from small European producers - perfect for date night.
We recommend trying the bok choy with sautéed wood ear mushrooms, the carrot sesame and bean sprout salad, the miso soup, the wasabi mayonnaise prawns, or the fried potatoes with red shiso furikake. What’s more, they are hot on natural wines, so make sure to check out their selection while you’re there.
