Known for mixing house, hip-hop and electro, New York-based artist Azealia Banks has earned a dedicated fan base since her breakthrough with the 2012 hit “212,” which became a global club anthem and marked her as a bold new voice in alternative rap.

Her debut EP “1991” and album Broke with Expensive Taste (2014) put her on the map and revealed her musical influences, from Harlem rap to UK garage and bounce. Her observant lyrics, sharp delivery and experimental style have positioned her as both a provocateur and innovator in modern music, straddling both the mainstream and underground scenes.

Throughout her career, the singer’s social media presence and outspoken views, especially on US politics and race, as well as disputes with other artists, have attracted significant controversy. She’s a force to be reckoned with, and a performer not to miss live.
