Top Secret, Cinema and Espionage
By Charlotte Stace
If you’re looking to soak up a little culture, then head over to CaixaForum which welcomes an exhibition on the themes of espionage and cinema. Following a chronological-thematic route, the exhibition establishes as its starting point a game of similarities between two figures: that of the filmmaker and that of the spy.
It explores the relationships between cinema and espionage, between fiction and historical facts, between props and the technology used by spies, from Mata Hari to Carrie Mathison or Malotru, including James Bond and Edward Snowden.
It presents nearly 300 pieces including electronic devices and film costumes, historical artefacts, archival documents, photographs, drawings, paintings, posters, artistic installations and film fragments from both the collection of The Cinémathèque Française as well as other museums, archives and private collections. Admission to the exhibition is 6 Euros.
